Easter 2009

I know this is way over due but I wanted to blog about it before it was Christmas already. I love Easter. It has always been my favorite holiday. From an early age I understood the resurrection was the meaning for Easter. I was thankful when I was younger that Jesus paid the ultimate price for our sins so one day I could be with my family again. Now that I am older I really am able to comprehend the whole meaning behind it. I am still very thankful that Jesus Christ, our brother, became our cross. I am amazed that he did it all alone. I sit here and find myself praying so very often for little things I feel I need spiritual help with, and just imagining that if I were in Jesus' shoes I would not have anyone to turn to. 

This year I started to decorate for spring right after my birthday in February. Very early, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Spring time is a celebration, I love the smells and colors!

On saturday before Easter our neighbors had a little hunt for some of the kids, so we packed Gabe up in nothing else but his wagon, and had a little hunt. He did great and picked up about 10 eggs. He was really shy at the end though when we took pictures. He wasn't so sure about the Easter bunny (They had their eleven year old dress up in a dog costume, pinned back the ears and had him wear some bunny ears-so fun!).

Gary and I had the chance to go to the temple for the first time since we were sealed. We had a great time, it was a very spiritual time for us, and we went with Ashley & Ryan Ostler. We are happy to have such neat couples in our ward who are reaching out to help us understand more and more about the gospel. We went out to Outback Steak house after the temple and oh boy we had some great food! Then on Easter sunday we got up ate a fast breakfast (we have church at 9 :-( and Gary had to work) and headed off to church. After we got home I put Gabe down for a nap after some lunch and then put together the easter baskets. By the time Gabe was up, Gary was home and ready to see what the bunny brought them this year. Gabe got a baseball & bat, a few games, sidewalk chalk, a couple books, etc. Gary got some candy, scratch tickets, and a new game. The easter bunny was so kind to even get me something! He brought me some BBQ sauce, and a gift card to craft wearhouse! Every wife's dream =) After we enjoyed our baskets, we had a yummy ham dinner with Gary's parents, and then headed out to my brothers house to spend some time with my side of the family. My parents got Gabe a basket filled with out door goodies from baseballs, golfing stuff, to hockey! He was thrilled! All in all it was another great Easter!!

Oh yes and Gary's basket was in a Wok this year, and Gabe's stuff was placed into TWO baskets since there was so much stuff! Lucky guys!
